Irving Kett Ph.D has been a professor of civil engineering at California State University Los Angeles,
for the past thirty eight years. Prior to his academic appointment, he spent over twenty-five years in the practice of engineering, principally in the design and construction of highways and bridges. In addition to his work in the United States, including Alaska, Dr. Kett also practiced as a civil engineer in Asia and Europe. As a faculty member in the Civil Engineering Department, Dr. Kett’s area of specialization has been transportation engineering. He has, however, been responsible for the concrete laboratory for many years.
